AT TONIGHT ABINGDON AND VIRGINIA HIGH BASKETBALL GAME CHICAGO CUBS PITCHER JUSTIN GRIMM WHO JUST SIGNED A CONTRACT EXTENSION WAS HONORED.. WITH HIS FAMILY ALONG SIDE HIM AT MID COURT, GRIMMS CUBS JERSEY WAS ENCASED AND THE NO. 2 JERSEY HE WORE AS A BEARCAT IN HIGH SCHOOL WAS RETIRED… GRIMM WAS BIG PART OF THE CUBS ENDING THEIR 108 YEAR LONG DROUGHT TO BECOME WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS AFTER THEY BEAT THE CLEVELAND INDIANS… “WHEN WE FIRST WON THE FIRST SERIES I DIDN’T UNDERSTAND THE MAGNITUDE OF IT AND I STILL DON’T THINK I TRULY DO I’M NOT FROM CHICAGO BUT I DO HAVE FAMILY THAT GREW UP IN CHICAGO ALL THEIR LIVES MY WIVES SIDE OF THE FAMILY SO AND JUST TO SEE THEM AND EVERYBODY ALWAYS TALKS ABOUT IT THEIR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS WISHING THEY COULD SE THIS SO I THINK IT HITS HOME FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE AND I THINK THERE WAS A LOT OF SMILING FACES AFTER WE WON IT.”
